Hibernating Acer
I have an Acer Aspire One Notebook, which I use if I want a quick check on something. Last night I switched it on, logged onto a Site, all OK so far, then it displayed "preparing to hibernate" which changed quickly to "hibernating" followed by a shutdown. It runs IE9, had just had a full security scan (McAfee) with no problems, in fact never had a problem with it.
Now if I try to turn it on, the light flashes on for a couple of seconds, then it all goes 'dead' again'
Any ideas please?
I have to go out shortly for an hour or so, please don't think I'm ignoring any replies.

Yep, check for power first.
Also laptops hibernate when you close them without powering down. There may be a mechanical switch that's activated when the laptop is closed. See if you can find one and, if so, check it's not stuck so the computer thinks it's closed when it isn't ...

Boy do I feel silly?
Have just followed mains cable back to wall socket, behind Settee,
OHs' mobile charger plugged in, Acer unplugged, didn't think she could get to that socket!
Thanks for pointers in right direction, I think a new battery is in order as it did discharge very rapidly, but is working OK now it's back ON mains power.
Thanks again...............................doh!!
