bleeding 8 week pregnant?

hi,im about 8 weeks pregnant,yesterday dinnertime,i went to toilet and when wiped myself was pinky red blood,not enough like a period,just on the tissue.about half an hour later i had a little bit more blood and was slightly darker but no clots.i had no cramps or pain,and touch wood have had nothing at all since then and feel fine.rang nhs direct who put me through to midwife at hospital and explained its quite normal etc,etc,and unless i get the cramping pains and blood gets worse to ring back.im praying everything is alright as nothing else has happened,can anyone reassure me??if i was miscarrying i would have continued with the bleeding and had pain by now wouldn't i?

At 8 weeks, probably yes, IMO. Is this weekend when your period would normally have been due, if you were not pregnant?

Be careful, don't exert yourself, and certainly don't have sex. Unfortunately it took some experience of friends to realise that having sex when a period would have been due, during the early stages of pregnancy, triggered miscarriages for them. May not apply to everyone, but not worth the risk, IMO.

Sometimes there can be a little bleeding when pregnant,especially at the time you would normally be having a period. But just as a precaution take yourself off to bed for a rest this afternoon, Place a pillow under your knees to raise them and get warm and try to relax.For reassurance make an appointment with your doctor tomorrow and try not to worry!

I had this and panicked too apparently it is very common to have a light bleed at the time when your period would have ben due. In fact some people do still have periods. Like others have said I would take it as easy as possible. Hope everything is ok.

I had the same problem with my first pregnancy and it came and went after the third week in a row of going to the Dr. they finally said some people just do that. I & the baby were fine and it finally stopped.
