Following on from Andy's post below, is there anything you avoided eating because you thought you would hate it to find out you'd been missing out on it your whole life?

For me, prawns. I didnt try one until I was 27 and i still have to close my eyes when i eat them because they look rank but they are yum!

I never fancied the idea of chips and bread together, but I am a complete convert :c)
Mayonnaise - I finally tried it when I was forty-years-old, and I loved it.
Special fried rice - had some about a month ago, never ate rice before because it looked like maggots, but it was put on my plate when we had a 'meal for 4' chinese take away. I thought the rice was a bit plasticcy (?) but the bits in it were lovely. I can't eat anything that I don't recognise - never ate chinese until my brother introduced me to sweet and sour chicken and pointed out what it was. Can't eat anything in sauce other than sweet and sour. White sauce makes me gag just looking at it.
Just thought about hot water as a drink. I didn't think I'd like it but tired it once when I was feeling rough. I needed to drink plenty of water but I was cold so tried it hot.

I can't say it was delicious but was far better than I expected. In the winter I'll often have it in preference to cold water.
Beetroot.
Calamari... I love it now.
