We're back to Aldi with a Merlot Cabernet Sauvignon from Hungary I'm afraid (though I don't lnow why as i hasn't hurt or offended me yet), as for the whisky I'm more of an Old Pulteney man meself. I prefer smooth and silky if I'm paying top dollar, unfortunately these days that'll have to be be my luxury item if Kirsty comes calling.

Yes, finances mean that I tend to buy the cheaper stuff. (My last whisky was a half-bottle of Morrison's own brand, which I bought to celebrate Burn's Night. It was good enough for the job!)

'Whiskey'? Does your spelling imply that you're drinking the Irish stuff (rather than Scotch Whisky) or have you simply drunk enough to no longer worry about spelling?

Damn you Chris, I'm actually drinking Scotch and I mis-spelled. I'm not a conoscieur but I actually prefer Irish whiskey over Scotch. I've got Powers and Bushmills there but started on the Tesco Special Reserve Scotch tonight. Just a notion.
