Dwarf peach or apricot trees
Has anyone tried to grow one of these small trees in a large pot on the patio? Would it survive the Winter outside?
Did it produce much fruit?
I am thinking of buying one for a friend and would like your opinions first please.

Peach leaf curl will be a problem as well so you will probably need to give them a fleece canopy /cover. need two for pollination I believe... I'd get a dwarf plum or greengage to be honest far less trouble for more fruit
I have a roof terrace and grow a normal size peach tree in a big pot..It gets lots of sun and its about 3 years old and last year I got about 30 peaches on it...I usually spray it with Bordeaux Mixture just before spring to stave off the dreaded peach tree leaf curl which I got the first year and that seems to be working..I don't do anything different in the winter and its just coming into blossom now. But my terrace is probably protected - although I got a lot of snow the winter before this one and it was still ok...Hope this helps.. also you don't need two for polination..
