I didn't mean gel extensions, but when I went to book a manicure, I was told they were going to stop doing the traditional type of manicure and just use the gel type as people seem to prefer them. They last for longer and dry straight away, and are meant to last for at least 2 weeks. I'm always a bit apprehensive about change!
I had my first ever manicure last week and opted for shellac. You can't get it everywhere, but I am really pleased with the result. It lasts a bit longer - one minor chip after 6 days and that's where I used my nail to open something I shouldn't have! The nail underneath is unaffected but you do have to go back to have it removed.
