TOH, microwaves are a common sight in motor way services etc for customer use.

Although as soon as the loophole has been spotted then H&S is bound to kick in.
But pies and pasties heated up in a microwave go all soggy :(
I struggle to believe that someone who eats in Gregg's is going to worry about such a detail :-(
Regardless of the weather, if they are kept in a hot counter they are hot food.
The pastie tax is against the Cornish - You Northern lot eat meat pies, not pasties and this has been recently ruled in the EU, just like the protection of Stilton, Melton Mowbray pies etc.

So please call them pies not pasties, unless you reside or are visiting Cornwall, otherwise we will have to send the Cornish bovver boys around and sort you out.
And pasties do not have mince in them (Greggs) - chuck or topside beef....
DT - you're reminding me of the most excellent pie thread we had a while back...droolicious.
the Kipling thread? Mosaic, most excellent and all that.....lol
Surely DT, although it's being referred to as the 'Pasty Tax', it covers all types of takeaway hot food including meat pies?
I know and its a disgrace it is being called that. Pasties should be ate cold or tepid - in their true colours, they were baked and carried down the tin mines wrapped in a tarp.....and had fruit at one end.
the poor lady who was burnt was transferring petrol from one container to another in her kitchen......with the cooker on!!!! Why do people panic so much and react to the frenzy whipped by the the irresponsible media - red tops expecially although the broadsheets are just as bad this time. The pasty farce is simply that, if anyone actually read what is proposed it is to close the loophole of those businesses who avoid paying VAT on cooked food. VAT has been on cooked takeaway food for years, I think Nigel Lawson was the chancellor at the time. Never repealed by Labour during the Blair/Brown years!!!!! For all we know these businesses have been charging the customer VAT for years and not paying their dues. To quote Michael Winner.......'calm down dear'!!!!!!
Eccles, Greggs sausage rolls are delish!

I couldn't give a toss about pasties though, they're grim. Whether they're from Cornwall or not.
