My Renault Scenic (1998) seems to have an air lock, as no heat is coming from the heater. Of the two water pipes entering the bulkhead, one is very hot, the other not so.

Is there a way of getting the air out?

pull off the cold pipe and run the engine until no more air -- it will spurt and bubble then run free - reconnect hose. There might be bleed screw on the return pipe. Check first that the control valve in the heater mechanism/matrix is not jammed shut.
