What on earth has happened to the english language ?? whats this 'heart ' stuff all about as in i heart you?? its ridiculous and as for those muppets on towie have they no grasp on how to speak they shorten words so much they sound ridiculous. Is it so difficult to speak properly??

Oh, I like 'like' as in 'and I was like' for 'and I said' . Users do say 'said' but use 'like' to act out or convey the emotion or circumstances of the utterance,often reinforcing their account by gesture or facial expression.

Some accents though definitely do standard English some damage, in terms of comprehension. On the train to Aintree, a group of lads were talking for a couple of minutes . I thought they were Dutch. Puzzled me;I didn't know that racing had a Dutch following.Only when they calmed down from their initial excitement at meeting, did I hear that they were speaking English.
