what would be your ideal or ultimate meal? three courses only (excluding drinks)
mine would be:-

starter ... pheasant pate with sesame toast
min course ... chicken kiev, smooth mash potato, brocolli, peas and parsley sauce
dessert ... ice cream banana boat

not very imaginative i know, but it's my dream meal

how about the pavlova, boxtops?

homemade meringue (white and slightly sticky)
a raspberry coulis
rapsberries, strawberries, blueberries
and then assembled, fruit on top of the meringue with the coulis drizzled - and then a small mountain of whipped farm fresh double cream....

lemon sorbet is possible (see ice-cream maker thread).....
^ you don't fancy a stint catering on a barge do you dt?
If I haven't got to cook it - I'll eat it (except tripe!)
stuffed mushrooms on a bed of rocket (roquefort)
poached salmon with new pots, seasonal veg..side pot of lemon drizzle
pavlova
cheese board
coffee with port or liquer
Starter would be steamed slugs.

Main would be squirrel stew..

Dessert would be boiled bluebottles in custard.


No, not really but am testing to see if you are all awake. I can see you all are, but not sure what I would actually eat.
1. Le Dauphin Seafood Risotto.

2. Rare rack of lamb with jus and roasted vegetables.

3. Continental cheeses.
Oooh this is tough.

Starter: Good old fashioned prawn cocktail or Leek & Potato Soup

Main: Same as No Mercy

Pudding: Tarte au citron

MissC - I love cold potato and leek soup, mixed with cream and chives, aka Vichysoisse, a dish that you rarely see on menus today.
DT, that sounds interesting. Never heard of that before but it sounds nice.
I'm also a fan of Asparagus soup.

Mine would have to be Indian cuisine.

Popadoms and chutneys/pickles with onion bhajis or samosas for starters..
Chicken Tikka jalfreizi (extra saucy) with fried rice and a naan bread for my main..
And a chocolatey pud for afters..

Prawn cocktail, meat and two veg and sherry trifle - easy to please me (lol).
starter.... a perfect lobster bisque with french bread and a Sauv blanc
main lamb fillet with jersey mids fresh asstd vegetable mint sauce and redcurrant jelly a nice bottle of Amarone

dessert White chocolate mousse with dark chocolate and amaretto icecream
and sweet champagne

sorry can I have the cheeseboard as well with port
Breaded camabert with crusty bread, then lobster linguine, finally tiramisu.
