For that dear little girls sake I hope there is soon closure one way or the other. But what I dont understand is why the government has put 2 Million pounds into the search. The McCanns had a huge fund raising and a huge amount of publicity. what about other Parents whose children have gone missing. Did the Mother of Ben Needham who was abducted in Greece ever receive the amount of help and Financial given to them ? No.And I am sure there are many other deserving cases that are forgotten too. Why special treatment for the McCanns.?And remember that she was taken because she was left in the apartment while her Parents were out wining and dining and would still be safe and sound otherwise.

The legal aid system makes this one of the rare priorities for full legal aid, so it this type of case the wronged parent WILL get help from the government.
BOO, I recall a child of about 3 going missing in a NAAFI supermarket in Germany when we were there. Apparently she was with her mother one minute and missing the next, there was an enormous search with Military and Civil police, as it was off base, but nothing was ever found. It was mentioned on TV on the 25th anniversary a few years ago.
no, that's not what im saying oj, and well you know it!
I'm stating that usually when a teen goes missing, its usually a factor at home that's been instrumental in it and they've usually run away. But when it happens to a toddler you know it's not the case.
If you can find other cases oj (apart from Ben Needham already discussed), where British toddlers have simply vanished, and no resources were spent in locating them, i'll hold my hand up and say you were right and I was wrong.

Just looked up the case in Germany, apparrently DC has promised to look into it. The picture on the website makes me go cold as she was the image of my daughter at the same age and we were in the store on the day she went missing, there but for the grace of God etc.

sorry, had to go to work and, ironically, watch other peoples children
That is what is sounded like you meant Boo. I just dont get how one child can be worth so much more than another
Nom, I am not McCann bashing at all, I sincerely hope they get their daughter back, but what are the chances? Almost zero I imagine. But I do get annoyed that when this little girl is mentioned, either here, in the news or independently on some TV programme, as it seems no other child, regardless of age, ever gets a mention any where. And if they do it's cursory

I am one of those without much sympathy for the parents - what they did in leaving three bairns by themselves was disgraceful. The McCanns have to live with that to their dying days; their reaction to use every resource they have and more is a natural one and their persistence and belief, credible.
My sympathy is with their daughter and I hope that the police et al unearth her and bring her home to her parents and her siblings.
The money from Government; why not, far better than spending it on some dumb arts project like towing an iceberg around the coast or some of r overseas aid. However, if they also get learning lessons from the case that assist other similar cases, then it will be good money invested.
