Without bones the size a insect can grow to must be limited, what's the world's biggest insect?

The largest true insect (six legs) is the african Goliath Beetle. Arthropods (many legs, exoskeletons) grow much larger...giant spider crabs can have a 12ft legspan. The limitation on size is due to the lack of lungs, not the lack of bones. Insect respiration is very primitive, relying on diffusion not muscle-induced respiration.
