credit disappearing

My daughter has an iPhone 3g. She's really careful with credit but it's all gone within days. She doesn't ring anyone our use internet, only the I'd text. Does anyone know why this could be happening?

Does she have a data allowance? The iPhone will use the data allowance to download emails and apps if not connected to a wifi network.

The first thing to ask is how much allowance does she get? i.e. how many voice minutes, texts and data does she pay for? And which of those is she using up quickly?

is she entering competitions? they cost a lot

If she is on PAYG, the phone could be connected to the net all the time, which would use up her credit, even though she doesn't actually use the net.

I'm told that to turn off net connectivity you need to go to Settings, General, Network and turn off the ones not needed. Might be worth trying, or checking out.

or that she is not connected to Facebook all the time which as an applicatopn will use her vredit even if she is not on it or online

on that consumer prog the other morning they were saying that some apps automatically update "in the background" ie without you asking them to every day at least and sometimes more. to do this they connect to the internet
