Albs, being a Yorkshireman, my first love is white roses and that is what I always put on Sylvia's grave (along with deep red or purple carnations to show off the white) and it is what i usually bought her but I must admit the red on Loving Memory is stunning. The Lady Sylvia is a pink with an apricot centre
Albs - strangely enough a newish white rose called Wiliam and Catherine is a lovely pure white and another called Clare Austin is another quite recent one too. The ones I get for Sylvia I get from tesco abd look a little off white when they are tight but when they open out after a few days they are a stunning bright white
darn it, my 'local' tesco is about 10 miles away. However, I walk pass my local florist quite frequently so I might just have a nosey. The lady is very nice and chatty (errr probly a requirement for being female!!)
Morning all yes I too love to watch flowers from bud and opening. Especially if they are a memory of things. About 15 years ago I took back daffs and tulip bulbs from the scillys. Every year I have had the black ones bloom but there is not 1 black one this year. Plenty of the others. Have a nice day it's a bit better here in Leics this morning so far.
Morning all...have been on susu watch, and getting T and toast. Don't know
what weather to expect to-day, cloudy, but sun appearing between clouds.
I have a beautiful deep red rose bush, cant' remember the name, had it years.
It has come from a piece that was from a pruning, just put the ground, and
it grew. I have done the same last year, about six have taken. x
I'm hopeless with names of flowers, I used to know quite a dew years ago but life has overtaken that memory line. I think it was Wendi who had a cordiline (sp), beautifully delicate thing.
