How much did you win should we write begging letters c/o Ed
Does he still drive the fastest milk cart in the west?

I could stretch to a Percy Pig for all regular ABers but probably not a glass of champagne!
never mind my Aunt always seemed to get a small win the month before a bigger one...
Question Author
I'm generally quite lucky with a win most months.

This month I got five though!!!!
Maybe this is the start of something big ? Go buy 5 lottery tickets !
I know that the more Premium Bonds one holds so the chances of winning something increases, but I have had one paltry win in 47 years. My mother has never won anything in 80-odd years! Any advice please??!
I once had 30k in them for a few months as I was 'between mortgages'. Usually got between 50-200 a month. I think I had them for about 8 months and always got something. Not sure how that wouldv'e compare to a savings account (at the time) Probably worth a punt these days with the low interest rate.

Having the full whack certainly helps your chances!
I have £43,000 worth.
£30K in Wife's names and £13K in mine.
The returns on average are 1.5% I think.
Win more or less most months.
Last Month got £125 (5 lots of £25) , this month got £25.
As they say it's a gamble.

Will keep them for another 9 months and then sell them to pay off mortgage, when tracker deal ends.
Mortgage is a base rate tracker and thus .5% interest charge on loan.
Happy Days :-)
@747 - Bonds were launched in 1956 ...So not 80 years yet.
I often win with the bonds I have but it usually only £25 which won’t even buy you a good meal nowadays. I personally think that is an insult
I love all the cat avatars on here. I think they should all get together for a photo shoot!
Ok SiRandyR, since 1956 then! ( nearly before my time.......)

Dustypuss, few investments are giving a good return at the moment. At least with premium bonds your money is safe and there is a (slim) chance of getting a significant win.

If you really feel 'insulted' it's very easy to cash your bonds in and invest elsewhere.
That true EC^ but when I first bought my bonds a few years ago if you won £25 you could go for a meal for 10. Ten pints a packet of fags and a Kentucky on the way home and still have some change
I only had a handful and never won anything (some of mine dated from when they were first issued) - so in the end I cashed them in.
Question Author
I think you are going back more than a few years to achieve that little lot!
Odd's of a bond winning id 24,000 to 1.
So if you have £24K worth , you should win on average once per month.
£12K every 2 months
£6k every 4 months
£3K every 8 months
Not sure how often you would win with £100 worth ?
