I have a bottle of Sake (i) bought back in the early
1970's. Would like to know if it is of any good, and or
how long can it keep and still be good?

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Short answer - chuck it. Sake loses flavour after about 12 months in the bottle. See http://www.esake.com/Workshop/WS1/ws1.html if you are interested in a bit about sake.
There are a couple of other dedicated websites about it, such as sake-world.com and sakeexpert.com, but these tend to be discussions about the finer points, similar to wine lovers sites.
Useless info. I have 2 cats, & one is called 'Sake'
As if I'd do that to a wee cat! Its all rock'n'roll to me! Wonder if anyone else got that?
Its actually Peanut. I thought they would be pretty unique, but some guy in the US has 2 cats called Saki and Peanut on gatogordo.com, as a family home page. His are even the same colours! (Cue comment re. sad b'strd looking for pet names on the web. Where will it end?)
One day when I leave rehab and Iget the use of my miond back I'll contact and annoy him.
Got to keep Peanut happy today. She had 2 teeth out today, and now is all wobbly and smells of vets, so Sake is hissing at her. Oh the domestic problems some people have.
Have a peachy evening!
