Doubt it. Most cheques have a life of 6 months.
I might be wrong but I'm pretty sure my bank has a six month limit on cheques.
Yep 6 months is the limit. But since its not been cashed you should return it to Equity and ask for a new one to be written.
probably not; but you could try asking them to reissue it - they may still have evidence that it was never cashed.
there is no time limit, although courtesy would have it that within 6 months it should be presented!

i would pay it in and try?
That might work if neither your bank nor Equity's bank notice the date and Equity don't automatically put a stop on expired cheques

I don't think I'd risk it
I've had cheques returned for being out of date. And been as tardy chasing the writer of the cheque as I was presenting it at the bank originally.

Almost certainly yours would be rejected.
My daughter phoned a mobile number several times for a job in London loads of phone calls to arrange the interview - she now has a bill for £242 for the month because the mobile number was in India she had no idea she thought she was phoning London. I think I know the answer but is there any chance of getting that bill reduced and if so how?
I would add the job offered was naff so I doubt if there would be any come back there.
Sue rambling? ^

;-)
Wrong thread, suetheramble- but it looks to me as if this could have been a scam regarding a non-existent job
Here we go again.........

Cheques are NOT invalid after six months, though depending on the individual bank involved, it may have a policy not to honour them outwith that time frame, or not to do so without checking first with their customer. Legally cheques are valid for six years.

There is a every chance if you bank the cheque it will go through successfully but it would probably be safer to contact the company directly and ask for a replacement.

For what it's worth I have often seen cheques more than six months old clear a company bank account unchallenged by either the payee or payer's bank.
cheques are not valid after 6 months , unless you are the Home secratary , in which case you are given an extra day or two !
