The NME launched the first British chart on 14th November 1952, the first Number 1 was Al Martino's "Here In My Heart".

The first chart was a Top 12.

In the US, the first Billboard Hot 100) was published on 4th August 1958. The first number one was Poor Little Fool by Ricky Nelson.
