Accidentally left a bag of frozen chips out overnight and so they are now defrosted. Is it safe to refreez them or do they come into the same catergory as meat and dairy products?.Tia

If I were you I would either oven cook them in the oven now, or fry them.

Then you could freeze them.
Kids are always leaving the freezer door open in our house resulting in a defrosted freezer and food. I just close the door and let it all refreeze and at 45, im still here...as are the kids !!!
As far as is known, there is absolutely nothing harmful in eating potatoes whatever their state. During the Irish potato famine, starving people even ate potatoes that had turned to a grey sludge. There are no reports of them coming to harm from this.
