I have a young familly, no mortgage and have you have to change jobs because I get moved around too much at short notice. Could be in Scotland 1 week and wales the next. No good for a familly.
I have been offered 2 jobs. One in hull which is a better company with better prospects. Not more money than what I am on but just better prospects.
The other job is working through an agency and it is based out in the south of france. It is working on the biggest nuclear new technology project in the world. The money is at least double what I am getting now. The France job is a years contract which should be more. But working through an agency they could just get rid of me easily when ever they want.

Seriously jealous in a major way!
Jet was a brilliant place to work, and you'll get to work with leading edge technologies.
Get out here and stuff your CV

No I was a physicist straight out of University working on laser interferometry measurements of plasma ensity.
I don't know what you know about this but Jet was a big fusion machine a tokamak

It achieved ignition so a full multi-second self sustaining fusion reaction - basically a star in a bottle
However it produced less energy than it took to run - by design
ITER is designed to reach breakeven - to produce more energy than it takes to run - it's not planned to be an actual power-station but to solve the engineering issues in creating one.
As such I expect that after construction there will be quite a bit of ongoing work.
What's your area? Building? Electrics?
This is important stuff - if it's made to work we create energy out of seawater - it's like getting to work on Apollo or the manhatten project one to tell your grandkids about

Mine is actually mechanical construction of the plant. I will be a 'Serior' piping engineer which is a lightly vague title as when I get there it could be either reviewing/ altering designs or plain site supervision. I tried to get a good job spec but its really vague. The agency are actually quite vague and I havent even had an interview. They just want me to go out and start next month.
