Wimbledon tickets - can I turn up and get in?
Hi
I'd like to go and see Wimbledon Tennis on next Monday 2nd July. I don't want the show courts; outside courts would be fine.
Does anyone know if I can just turn up and pay on the gate? Also if you have any idea of the entry price that would be good!
PS Is there *any* chance to get a show court ticket without having to resort to a ticket tout?
Thanks in advance

They also said that you can start queueing for the outside courts from 7am - I can't get there till at least 10am. They were very cagey about my chances if I arrived at 10-11am - I guess it depends on who's playing. I just wondered if anyone had ever tried getting there mid-morning and what there experiences were like.

My long suffering good lady is a Wimbledon fan and watches ardently every year. I would love to treat her next year and was wondering where you can apply to get tickets? I have Googled "Winbmledon tickets" and found only touts charging ridiculous prices and, while I don't mind splashing out on her, I can't/won't pay those prices, nor would she be very pleased if I did.
I'm not looking for the stars and the moon, just a seat at Wimbledon in the early rounds and the chance of a player we might both recognise, male or female. Any advice greatfully received.
