MM Links Results July 2012 Week 1

King John was born and grew up in a time without computers. He is more familiar with a dip-pen and blotter than with CTRL-C and CTRL-V. It is a great achievement that the introduction and challenge were posted precisely at the required time.

As for the details of the scoring, see below:

It was definitely a game of two halves as they say.
Two links were discovered in the first minute of play and both proved to be fairly popular with followers.

Beejay1124 led the way with PEDAL POWER, almost immediatly joined by teacher1, seekeerz, grannydi and fordward, all for 2 points.

Player #2, teacher1, and player #3, seekeerz, hit the double with GEAR CHANGE as well. Evsajo and boxtops were also in time for a 'gear change' bonus.
X-ray was another double-hitter with the same pair but too late to claim any bonus points. Ten other players picked up a single on one or other of those.

It was nearly 11 o'clock and after 28 players had played, when new player foxlee2 showed her skill by claiming BARGE MASTER for two points. A unique choice.

The final link of DOUBLE LOCK proved much more resiliant: lasting out until after 4pm on Sunday! A well-earned 2 points to Twix123.

So two links gave away just 4 points whilst the other two generously distributed 30 points.

There were three double-hitters but I am choosing Twix as 'hotshot' for finding that elusive 4th link.

I enter all the entries into a spreadsheet and it is supposed to keep the scoring more accurate.

This time the spreadsheet tried to auto-complete my typed entries wich is excellent when you are typing in 'power' up tp 20 times.
Unfortunately, it had auto-completed your name and instead of tea(ringhair), it had entered tea(cher1)

In the above report then, every reference to 'teacher1' should read 'tearinghair'.

I have amended my records.

Wow, Hotshot of the week! Having had a very busy week, I was too tired to get my entry in at my normal time, around 2.00 a.m. Saturday night, and nearly missed the boat.
