Please can you name this film

the film was based on two characters who were leading seperate lives but came together through a support group for terminally ill cancer sufferers. Neither party know that the other is a sufferer and they begin to develop a freindship together. the main characters i have always thought to be Peter Falk & Marilu Henner but can trace no record of this film by other means.This is a weepie in general but has definate funny moments within aswell

It may not be the one you're looking for, but there was similar plot in a film called Hawks, in which Timothy Dalton and Anthony Edwards played two patients with terminal cancer.

Thanks for the reply but it is not the same film. The characters were male and female one of which dies in the end but beforehand they go off and get up to hilarious things that they both wanted to do as a child but didn't have the courage to do.
