Hen Night Help Needed!
6 Answers
Does anyone have any ideas as to where we can go on a hen night? The party includes just a few girls and their mothers, so we're not talking net curtain veils and L-plates here. I'm thinking somewhere nice to eat, bit lively, but not too scary for the old girls. Anywhere in the Surrey/SW London area would be ideal, but in town would be fine too. Please help - time is running out.

So if you got there about 7pm, you could have a meal and then by about 9pm it gets crowded and they used to only play songs up to 1986 - I think that policy has changed now and they do play more recent things, but they do play some good oldies. Failing that, How about The Blue Hawaii in Kingston. Right next to Kingston train station and its all mongolian food. The waiters are in hawaiin shirts, there's a singer throughout the evening, and a magician who goes around the tables. Then you go up to select your food (which is all raw, like diced meat or fish) and then you watch it being cooked on massive oil drums. Brilliant night out - not too rowdy, but good fun and a nice change. Enjoy! :)
If you go with the Mexican or Mongolian suggestions, there's a Mexican called 'El Torito' in Richmond TW9, or there's the 'Mongolian Barbeque' in Wimbledon, SW19. I've been to both of these for 'occassion' dinners - office parties, Christmas etc., and they were v. good - waiters friendly, good food - also, El Torito do fantastic cocktails!
Try Barcelona if you want to make a real prick of yourself. The Catalan tradition seems to be that the bride-to-be goes around with a six inch plastic penis strapped to the top of her head! We were in a restuarant there in April and witnessed this but unfortunately I persuaded my wife to put the camera away.
