Thankfully Wiggins represented Team GB in the Olympics. But having been born in Ghent could he have represented Belgium, or Australia as his dad was born there?

I assume he'd have to fulfil some sort of residency qualification first, but I'm not sure of the rules.

Although Wiggns was born in Belgium it was because his Father(an Australian ) was based there.
After his Father abandoned him and his Mother(English) when he was 2 years old they moved back to London where he grew up.
Stop trying to question his "Britishness" it's all rather sad.

John McEnroe was born in Germany but few would argue he isn't an american
Terry Butcher a fine English footballer was born in Singapore..etc

He lives up the road and we have gold post boxes, it's amazing, he can park on the flat iron for free grrrrr, it's usually £1 for 3 hours, wonder if he will still have to put the last 3 letters of his reg. in? The post box outside Gala bingo on market street has been painted gold and it looks great.

i agree , sire prize was asking if he COULD have represented the other countries and not actually suggesting he SHOULD have, in fact exactly the opposite, he is glad he didn't!

I haven't been drinking,I just read it as though you were having a pop at Bradders for being born in Belgium and asking why he chose to represent Great Britain.
He's been here since he was 2 years old,that's my point.
