OK Ladies (or gents too I suppose), have any of you tried laser hair removal? Was it worth it's rather hefty cost?

I had IPL (Intese Pulsed Light) treatment which is sometimes called laser hair removal. Is this the same thing? Spent a fortune, did more than the recommended number of sessions (supposed to only need ten at £90 a pop, 6 weeks apart). It was looking OK, but no where near as good as it should have done, so had a few free ones, then they started charging again. I had probably 13 in all, then missed one appt because it was a long way to travel, it was near christmas and I had other things to do, I did not resume the sessions and you cannot now tell I ever had it done in the first place.
Complete waste of time and money. Furthermore I have very dark hairs which are supposed to be the best type for IPL removal.
So for me, it was not worth it. I was not impressed (and I had been raving about it half way through when it looked like results were happening!)

Itchy, I've had a brief look and I think IPL and laser removal are slightly different, Im not sure exactly how though. I'm going for a consultation next week at a place nearby that does both so I'll try and find out more then.
In the meantime I might look at some reviews for my own kit.
Does it hurt mrs_o?

Hi I had this on my upper lip I was advised whilst having the treatment to not use sunbeds or expose myself to the sun. when I did use a sun bed I would cover my face. I did use the sunbed so the therapist would reduce the strength of the laser output as she said it could cause skin pigmentation (my treatment was on a special offer) anyway I still have upper lip hair growth, not a proper tash, folk say they don't notice but I do. I now have it threaded which works better for me, the regrowth is slower and not as coarse. I think I wasted my money. maybe if I hadn't used the sunbed it may have worked? who knows? My friend had her nether regions lasered and reckons it was a success
