samsung galaxy ace - cant send texts..?

sometimes i cannot send texts on this, they just return as failed.

i can receive them and make calls etc - its just sending texts is the problem.

it is also random, it sjust happens, sometimes for days, then i can randomly send one or two, then it goes wrong again.

any ideas why and what i can do?

sounds like there's a problem either with the operating system on the phone or a configuration conflict with any downloaded apps. My sister in law had a similar issue on the Galaxy Ace and she had to do a full backup of photos, music, messages etc and then factory reset. So far it has he phone working again normally.
