Electric oven temperatures
16 Answers
On moving into a flat I have inherited a Neff double oven (separate grill) - it's probably 20+ years old with no instruction booklet. Not being used to electric cooking, I am having problems with the oven temps. The main oven is fan but the lower one (with grill) is not. The fan oven dial goes from 50 to 200 and the lower non fan from 50 to 250. Can anyone convert these to gas for me? I do know that fan ovens operate at a lower temp but can't make much sense of the two ovens' temps. HELP.

Oh dear! Marval and Bedknobs have added more different conversions into the mix. It's difficult to read the info on the info plate ChuckFickens, as it's in the area where the lower oven hinges down. I'll try and make out the model number tomorrow in better light. The reason I was trying to get precise info is that I have three guests coming on Saturday and I was planning to use the oven. Up util now I have not worried too much about the exact temp when cooking, but I wanted to cook something where I needed to be more precise with temp. If all else fails, we could always get fish and chips!!
