Display problem

We have ghosting/ lines across the display. Someone suggested that the graphics card may be at fault. How do I check if it is the graphics card

I'm not very good with computers but from a purely practical point of view, could you beg borrow or whatever, another monitor to eliminate that from the equation?.......nothing else to offer............commoner

Well, I have never had a graphics card do this kind of fault but it does sound a lot like a monitor problem, definately try to find someone who will let you take your PC to their place and try it with their monitor before doing anything else.
