It's really easy to distinguish between mouse poo and bat poo, first pick up a single poo between thumb and forefinger, roll it with a little pressure, if it remains firm or squidges it will be mouse poo, if it turns to dust it will be bat poo.
As an ex pest controller I used this method most days, never fails!
Put peanut butter on your snap traps and make sure your trap is set really fine and then place that in a darkened quite area, make sure the area is spotlessly clean and remove all other food sources. Always keep a snap trap in position even after you catch your mouse/mice so that if you get a new mouse wander in, it will be killed before it becomes a problem.
Thanks, I've got two snap traps and a bait tray in the little corner I think it must be coming from. I used choc as I heard that was good but I'll see if I can get my hands on some peanut butter.
Why would you think it would be bay crap, do you leave the windows open at night?
As said, peanut butter is irresistible to mice and rats. The cost of a small jar is very small to get rid of mice.
I always feel sorry for the poor little things as it is not their fault that they have been breeding because humans provide things to eat, but they are not nice to have in a kitchen.
we had a wee mouse about 6 months ago in our kitchen.the little bastard got into the oven!! a trap with a slightly chewed soft caramel sweet got him.it's eyes were almost out of it's head.think he got a fright???
