his is week two's introduction from 'King Fordward' (aka fordward) posted on his behalf by gen2.
Well here we are again, another week into September.
Thought I'd tell you about my trip of a lifetime to Australia. We set of on a Malaysian Airways plane (very nice they are too but I shan't discuss the food!), we went via Kuala Lumpur where we had a stop to change planes, (it’s a long journey) then on to Adelaide. There we stayed with friends for the duration of our 5week holiday. We managed to fit in a few games of bowls at the Para Hills bowling club, also visited the Adelaide Casino (old railway station I think) and a few vineyards in the Barossa valley with a wee bit o' sampling! The Barossa Valley is one of Australia's oldest wine regions and produces a distinctive style of Shiraz.
Our trip to Melbourne was quite picturesque down the coast road passing 'The 12 Apostles'. That's not a boozer but a collection of limestone stacks off the shore of the Port Campbell National Park, beside the Great Ocean Road in Victoria.
We also had a trip to Coober Pedy, opal country; and to get there we travelled through a lot of nothing - as the saying goes! A most enjoyable holiday.
Coming home, we stopped at Kuala Lumpur for a couple of days and did a bit of sight seeing (too hot there) then home, so that was one of my ambitions achieved. I only have one to go and that is Canada.
Enough of my blethers, on with the game. And a big thank you to Gen 2 for doing the needful.
