We are trying to stop using butter but have been told that all margarines/spreads are full of rubbish. We have fairly high cholesterol. Which is the best to use ?? Thanks all

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.I was having problems with high colesterol, and my nhs well man nurse told me about Lurpak Lightest, very tasty and good for colesterol, a little expensive but you get the best of both worlds, I also agree with squad spread a little thinner, my colesterol has gone down by the way but I have changed my diet with exercise good luck
Listen to the venerable sqad - use butter, spread thinly and/or don't use as often.
Lurpak spreadable (not the 'light' version which is horrid) is a good option - approx 75% butter 25% veg oil and no nasty additives - has actually reduced my butter usage by about a third because it is easy to use in small quantities direct from the fridge.

Get one of those ones that have plant sterols.
