Update re my father.

Visited Dad this afternoon and found him in the wrong bedroom in somebody else's bed.
His glasses were in another room, his belt in yet another and his trousers in yet another room.
Met the social woker by chance.
She complained again that Dad was costing the PCT a lot of money and should really be paying his own way.
Dad's needs are health so they are not means tested but it appears the council will get you to pay if it can.

Hi- I've asked this on some of your other threads but I think you've missed them as posts come along quite quickly.and the Latest Posts list changes every minute. I was just wondering how your dad was doing in the home now.

Dad is about the same as the last time we spoke.
He lays his clothes etc on the bed thinking he is coming home and now wants a car to drive ( Honda Jazz ) joke he has not mentioned any type.
He also thinks the staff and the home are taking his money which is not correct and he thinks he will be put on the car park straight away if he recover.
If this did happen I would go there immediately to collect him.
He is still going into different rooms and taking his glasses off and complains he can not see.
With regard to his money I take my laptop in and show him some of the bank statements.
He still worries the car and house is not insured but they certainly are and there will be no petrol to visit him the next day. I filled my car up this afternoon.
I spoke to another relative today and her father is in the home.
Her mother had dementia and has now passed away. She said my father is going the same way as her mother and it looks as if he will go down another step soon.

Thanks for the update to the update.
It's not easy is it but at least you are getting a break from it for some time each day with your running, aerobics and contributions to AB although it must always be in the back of your mind.
I haven't had an update from Holmes123- don't know where he's gone.
Don't get arrested when you go running tomorrow.

My Honda Jazz went in for service last week and they think the front tyres will only last for about 5000 more miles.
I am thinking about replacing them but it looks as if the rear tyres and brakes will need attention next year.
At that point I will have to decide if I will get the repairs done or get a new car possibly a red automatic Honda Jazz again as it is the cheapest as I am a poor pensioner.

Your pension income which you said is only £3000 a month is 10 times my Job Seekers Allowance and with your two properties I don't think Nick Clegg would regard you as hard up. In fact with your main property being so big you may fall foul of the mansion tax so things could be worse.
