Onwards and Downwards Continues in September
Hello all,
Onwards and Downwards welcomes any new members serious about losing weight and having some fun along the way.
Well, we didn't really have much of a summer and now autumn is almost upon us. Has anyone found it hard to keep their fingers out of the cookie jar whilst entertaining the little ones?
Please share your high and lows with us and we will support you.
Don't forget your weekly weigh on Wednesday and remember we don't judge!

Welcome Sophie I am sure you will get lots of tips from others but my plan is I eat healthily plenty of fish chicken plenty of veg with meals. Don't live on salads at every meal. Always make sure you have breakfast. I keep telling people to have a small glass of unsweetened grapefruit juice in the morning as that works for me. Shop so that you don't run out of ideas...

Thanks all. Congrats to the losers this week to.
You should note the daily fluctuations though. Was lighter (just) yesterday, but rather more heavy the day before that. Still got over 22 lbs to go.
About 15 years ago when I last made a decent effort I concentrated on waist size rather than weight, and for that I'd estimate I'd need to drop another 36 lbs. But then, when the waist is right, I get folk telling me I've gone too far, my face looks drawn, and my limbs like matchsticks. Spiteful trick the body has of taking weight off unevenly like that.

Hi all and thanks for your encouragement; especially Jan with your suggestion to change the menu.
I do have a long, long way to go (although I have lost 2 stone since April) that's just the start and I need to get going again. I really haven't been cheating and that's why I feel a bit disappointed.
But Jan's right, I have been eating very similar food these last couple of weeks after they'd worked so well for me in the summer. Same breakfasts and similar lunches, and a choice of about 4 evening meals with the same yoghurt afterwards. I'll try to ring the changes this week and see if I get get shifting again.
Perhaps I'll alternate my usual crispbread/salad lunch with some soup now the weather's colder and find a few new evening menus. Thanks all as always :)

Hi everyone. I'm a day late reporting in this week as I joined SW last week for a change, hoping it would give me a push in the right direction. I've lost 4lb! So chuffed. I know it's the first week, but I really needed that boost. We go away for a week the Saturday after next, all inclusive, and I was going to join after that, leading up to Christmas, but I'm glad I've been, because any weight loss now should take care of the holiday. Plus, hopefully it will nudge me not to go too mad whilst away, but still enjoy myself. Well done to all other losers and Good Luck for next week. :)
I really did enjoy it, Wendilla. Think it was just what I needed. I didn't eat much the rest of the day so don't feel too bad now. Will try to be really good today and tomorrow and can then let myself eat a bit more when I am away.I actually think my appetite has shrunk since I started to lose consisiently.
