Would love to go to Tuscany but am worried I might not experience it's best if I went in mid-Oct. Anyone have any experience? Thanks.

I went there in October and it was lovely. It was about 10 years ago so I don`t remember exactly what the weather was like but I know I didn`t have to dress in thick clothes. I was horse trail riding and was wearing thinish tops all day. It might have been a bit chillier in the evenings but the horses were tucked up in their stables by then and we were ensconced in a farmhouse with gallons of red wine so I can`t remember exactly. I do remember lots of balmy sunshine though.
I'd say it's one of the best times to go. That and mid-April unless you prefer hot sun. At that time there aren't as many tourists too.
I've been twice...the first time was mid October. We stayed in an old property in the hills near Pisa/Lucca. There were olive groves all round us,olives were being harvested, and the weather was sunny and pleasantly warm. A very nice time to visit.
