I would strongly advise using any spyware or adware as this will open your computer up to abuse.

Assuming, you mean ANTI-spyware. Malwarebytes run once a month on your PC (or more frequently, if you have been doing something naughty) should suffice.

Note there is a fre version of Malwarebytes, but you do have to run it manually yourself.

If you dont run it then it is doing nothing as it does not automatically run in the background.

That's what I use. I run it manually once a month or more if I fell I need to. No point in paying for something that is freely available on the net.

I prefer not to tie up resources running stuff all the time. AV ok, but checking for ad/spy abuse ? Once a week should be fine. There are a number of good ones out there including that already suggested.
