We've crossed posts Connemmara, I've made some suggestions on your other post.

I know you are in NI and may not have access to the likes of Kitchen George, County Kitchens that I have here. Finding a good joiner or independent kitchen fitter who can advise is a good start.

Eccles that is what I said our posts crossed. I do know of a young lad who is supposed to be great in fitting kitchens - will look him up when I get around to it!!!!
I had a local joiner make my kitchen, not a kitchen company...............

Hi Craft - where did you purchase the kitchen.
My cousin is craftsman who specialises in kitchens and he made my kitchen using real wood and granite surfaces. It didn't cost me a lot (family discount!) but any other customer would expect to pay more than 3 times what you were quoted simply because of the time it takes and the wood they use and it's all hand carved. Kitchens are expensive anyway, but as Eccles said if you can get to an Ikea and have someone fit it, then that may be the way to go.
using a local contractor, my ex and I built our bathroom for 1/4 what Mowben quoted and with far, far better materials and fittings.
Off our own own design and having approached various companies to leech ideas......
I didn't Con, he built it made to measure..............
