I wonder if the teacher who absonded to france with his underage girlfriend will be treated so leniently?
Guilty to sexual activity with child.
Guilty to sexual activity with his 17 year old brother.
Guilty of becoming pregnant with one or the other.
Guilty of having an abortion at the NHS expense..
Guilty of supplying cannabis and possession of the drug.
Guilty of sending indecent pictures and text messages to a child.
The sentence:
Nine-month prison sentence, suspended for two years, and she must also sign the Sex Offenders’ Register for ten years.
I tend to agree with the boy's father when he said,
/// He said: 'If it had been the other way around and this was a man having sex with a 15-year-old girl, he would have been locked up, without a shadow of a doubt. But, because she is a woman, she has walked free" ///

/// The word guilty has connotations associated it with, and when you follow up a list of 'Guilty of...' with 'The sentence' it is natural for the reader to infer that you are including all the actions in the previous clauses. ///
Read into it what you may, I am not responsible for ABers who cannot make sensible conclusions on what is written.
Anyone with a reasonable amount of intelligence would be able to sort out of that list of things she was guilty of, which ones were actually illegal and which ones were not, without the need to try and be clever so as to point out what is plain obvious.
No the whole problem here is the fact that some on this site in their efforts to try and belittle others, will jump in stating what is obvious, and then are annoyed when shown they have failed so miserably.

/// She has had sex with a 17 year old, and an abortion, but she is not 'guilty' of doing those things. ///
Wow it is hard work with some. I have already covered this, get out your dictionary and look up the word guilty.
If you came home late from the pub, you would be 'GUILTY' of doing just that.
If you lost too much on the horses, you would be 'GUILTY' of gambling your money away?

Is it your practice to find someone guilty before they are tried, and reject the principle of innocent until proved guilty, aog? Just ask, because you draw a comparison and wonder whether the school teacher will be treated as leniently as this woman sex offender, which predicates that he is guilty of an offence of unlawful sexual intercourse, with which he hasn't even been charged yet, and might never be.
On the facts disclosed and undeniable, the teacher has no defence to child abduction, but that offence and unlawful sexual activity are not comparable

/// So you think anyone who has sex outside marriage should feel guilty; and a woman who has an abortion should feel guilty? ///
/// I certainly wouldn't feel guilty about getting home 'late' - I'm an adult not a schoolkid. ///
Are you absolutely sure?
I will try yet again, but this is the last time.
One can be guilty of doing something, that they themselves do not necessarily feel guilty of doing.
One can be guilty of doing something that is not illegal.
One can be guilty of having sex before marriage, which they themselves don't feel guilty of, or that the state finds illegal.
One can be guilty of having an abortion, but the woman perhaps doesn't feel at all guilty about herself, or that the state finds illegal.
Now sit down comfortable, read this and then digest it.
You know it makes sense.

guilt
noun
1.
the fact or state of having committed an offense, crime, violation, or wrong, especially against moral or penal law; culpability: He admitted his guilt.
2.
a feeling of responsibility or remorse for some offense, crime, wrong, etc., whether real or imagined.
3.
conduct involving the commission of such crimes, wrongs, etc.: to live a life of guilt.
Someone (eg you) still has to consider it "morally wrong" for it to be considered guilty, but laws aren't based on what you deem morally wrong.
/me leaves to snog my boyfriend somewhere public whilst touching his lovely bum (just kidding with ya, AOG, I always used to consider you to be a bit like my dear old Grandad)
