It certainly did, em10, and was shown live on BBC News as well as several internet streams. For a time it looked like he might spin out of control during the freefall but had the experience to control it. He landed on his 2 feet, without falling over.

didn't see much tv in the last few days, will do a search later, i know that it was supposed to have taken him all of ten minutes to land, doing over 700mph, the mind just boggles..

H's supposed to have reached over 800 mph - is that terminal velocity for a human body? wonder if there were any heating problems from air friction, or shock from breaking sound barrier?

This presumably wouldn't be any use for astronauts - if they jumped from a space station, they'd be doing about 18000 mph, and would have serious heat problems!
