I am making 5" square by 3 foot tall stained glass floor standing lamps, the standard light bulbs only light the lower part of the lamp, does anyone know if it is possible to light the lamp form the bottom to the top easily.

Presumably, halogen reflector lamps would do the job, but give out a lot of heat too - so things could overheat. Cool-running LED lamps may be a better choice?
I would have thought that LED was the way to go.
