5d) is an anagram of "rye a tramp"-to give prayer mat.

wrong clue - difference between on line and paper

prayer mat is correct
pioneer is correct, the only word that fits in p-o-e-r....one of those daft gaffes of the DT.
There has been an earlier 'debate' about this clue.
Please can someone enlighten me as to why PIONEER fits this clue. I cannot find any previous correspondence about this
I get it now. Wrong clue given for 5 across. Misprint
