I have a Compact 100p Fanned Flu Combintion Boiler & the fan is on continually - 24/7, even when the thermostat is turned right down & the cental heating's off! I'm sure in the past if the heating went off the fan stopped working - can anyone give me any advise please? tia

I'm not familiar with this boiler Spreeny, but I would guess the fan control is at fault. There are various electrical and air pressure tube connections to the flue fan. Unless you're very keen, and have the manual, it would be well worth getting someone in.
I doubt if it's anything major.

Thank you very much, I have a service contract with Br Gas so think I might get them to have a look, was a bit concerned about calling them out if the 'problem' was normal :-)
I would agree with The Builder that it is almost certainly a control board fault, causing the fan to run continuously.

My Potterton boiler control board has a design fault in that within a year or so of fitting, either the fan and/or pump run continuously. At resent my boiler fan is running continuously, albeit at a slow speed. It’s probably only costing me a couple of pence a day in electricity – so it is not worth fixing.

Be aware that if your BT contract does not include parts – you could be looking at well over £100 just for a control board.
