I'm stuck on two of the 'normal' clues
13 down: Bear old subaltern (4) C_L_
33 down: Dull priest's vestment turned up (4) _ _ _ H
I've only given letters I'm (pretty) sure of!
Any help gratefully received

I think the Inquisitor is set with certain rules and superfluous letters

The diagonal is only 12 squares long.

I've got some across & down words sharing the same extra letter i.e.2 down & 12 across with an R
so I've got 14 clues with extras which I make into the 12 letter diagonal
I'm sure you're right though as I'm pretty useless at Inquisitor!

The diagonal spells out one thing, the 14 letters spell out another - the 14 were supposed to help you/us get the diagonal.

LOL I just answered this from tech I presume having only typed Inquistor into the search engine!
