Ebay!!

just finished selling all the stuff i put on E bay i didn't realise how much e bay makes out of it! had to pay £25 plus Paypal fees on top think i will stick to boot sales from now on!

that was what annoyed me, the charges add up, you even pay a fee for something that the person collects.

hi dotty i agree, plus all the postage on top as well (i tend to sell free postage if i can) all adds up!

If you have to pay for postage, and your reason for selling on eBay is to make money, then I fail to see why you offer free postage. IMO why are you paying people to take your sales? Postage should be included in your sale price, or sell on a free listing day, as OH does, which saves on the eBay fees.

I always do listing with just one photo - doesnt cost a penny to list then.

nibble- i add on a few quid to the price of the item i am selling people do look for free postage on e bay that way i cover myself and they think they are saving on postage

my ads are always under 30p....i very rarely put more than one picture in. it's not necessary. i tell customers i can email them more images and info if they wish....x

Ebay can be good in that people from all round the world can see your things. I put a buy it now old watch on ebay and within about 15 minutes had sold it to someone in Italy. Boot sales you have to pay for entry, get up very early, have people trying to buy your stuff for next to nothing and I have even had people steal things! I tend to put stuff mostly on ebay now.

That's great Mazie. Yes, I sold one of mine this week and my daughter has sold a couple this week as well. Steady trickle.

The money was great grass but it was just nice to get rid of some of our clutter. I have now joined the Library !
