I'm clearly having a senile moment [again!] how do I put a icon onto a desktop which would be a quick link to a particular website. eg if I just wanted to open AB, how would I got about pasting that on the screen? [running an aged Windows Vista home basic] Thanks

Copy the URL from the address bar, then right click on the desktop and in the menu that appears you'll see New which (when you put your mouse over it) will reveal the Shortcut option. Select that and paste the URL into the first form asking for location and once you've done that and selected Next then you can call it whatever you like.

thanks rojash - i've never been in the habit of clicking and dragging other than when moving things around on the desktop, maybe i should try it more often
You will require a blank area on the screen to release the icon. So you will need to 'restore down' the page before clicking and dragging off the icon.
It's a simple matter and I have an icon which takes me directly to my Profile page in AB. I never log-out from AB and as a result I get immediate access into the site, without having to 'Sign-in'.
