Well I bought one today.
Does anyone remember listening to Radio Luxembourg under the bed covers in the 60's. Well that's exactly what it sounds like. TINNY. I feel I have wasted my money. How much do you have to spend to get a decent sound? I bought a Bush one £79.

You certainly haven't upset me and you can take my responses any way you like. I just don't understand anyone coming on here one day seeking advice and then coming back the next day whinging about what they've bought having not heeded the first hand, independent advice.
Eccles is not being particularly brusque - it just seems a waste of people's time to ask for advice and then ignore it in favour of a marketing spiel from a retailer.

It is, of course, your prerogative to do that - but then to complain afterwards seems rather redundant ...

Well thanks (not) for your unhelpful comments on my purchase. I will not bother you again.
You are not being very fair to Jeza treating her like that...... I read her thread from last night and nobody said Bush radios were rubbish........

Jeza ....ignore the comments, ring the store and ask if it will be ok to swap it for a different model, my OH has a Roberts and is very pleased with it, its not that small though, but ok for taking around the house, although it does eat batteries so is better used on mains. If you got it from Argos there should be no problem, I once bought a printer from there and took it back as I didn't like it.
To be honest I won a Pure radio in a crossword comp .It was crap .My son sold it for me on EBay .The DAB one Mr S. bought me for Christmas a couple of years ago is great. Cheap and cheerful from Asda :)
I agree entirely with Eccles.

It's Argos's job to sell so they aren't going to say anything negative about it.

If you don't want to have to go into a store where you can listen to one then I'd try somewhere like amazon. Find a radio you like and head straight for the customer reviews.
we have just bought on Amazon a Pure One Flow and its perfect, take yours back and explain the problem, I think we paid £86.
If you aren't happy take it back, but truthfully Argos is not the place to be buying audio equipment from because s other people have mentioned you can't listen to it first. If you want something decent you're going to have to 'test hear' it, so I'd make the effort and make a day of it in Leeds if I were you.
the ones i have bought seem fine, i only changed them because my last lot were run by steam.
John Lewis have good range, go there.
I have a Pure Cronos II iDock DAB radio: purchased from John Lewis, 2 year guarantee included. Great for the kitchen/bedroom.
