During WWII my father was aboard HMS Rodney and every time the ship docked he bought postcards, whenever possible, of the countries he visited.
I have about 100 here, all in very good condition. 40 of them are from the US and these are circa 1941 as I know that is when he was in the US. The rest are from places like Russia, Bulgaria - those that I can identify anyway. Also are some from Constantinople, Odessa and these are quite interesting.
I don't really want them and I am wondering if anyone out there would be able to advise me of an organisation that would be interested in them. I don't really want to sell them to one of these dealers who'll give be about 10p each for them and then sell on for hundreds of pounds. I have scans of all of these should anyone like to view. If you would like to see them advise me on how to do it because this site does not allow people to exchange addresses.
My Dad had a lot of Donald McGill postcards and Bonhams took them. Sometimes they tour the country so it might be worth looking on their website to see if they`re going to be in your area.
