Turkey stress
5 Answers
Yesterday I bought a fresh Turkey in M & S, with a sell by date of 26 December. Mentioned this to some friends today and they were convinced it wouldn't keep in my fridge until Christmas Day. Now I am stressed and paranoid about my fridge temperature (which is exactly what it should be according to the thermometer)! Should I be concerned, and if so is it now too late to put it in the freezer for a few days??

The best before date will usually be a day or two after this date (bringing you to about the 28th December. I think you will be fine keeping it chilled until christmas day, and if you cook it on xmas day (as I assume you will be!) it will last longer as cooked meat lasts longer than raw
