I am trying to take my laptop back to a restore point, but whenever it finishes the sequence a window pops saying unsuccessful, i need to temporeraly disable the anti virus program, can anyone tell me how to do this, and get the anti virus program back, i need any answer as simply as possible please any help would gratefully received Thanks.

If you open the avg window and then drop down the options menu, choose advanced settings and there is an option on the left to temporarily disable avg protection.

Perhaps if we knew which antivirus program it would help.
As per rojash, you have provided no useful information at all...

AVG anti virus
hope someone can give you help on this, usually get good advice on how to...... from somebody. Anyone help?

I used AVG for a short while some time ago but got rid of it because I couldn't turn it off as a temporary measure.
I went back to my FREE Avast as you can turn this of temporarily without uninstalling the entire program.
You could always look in the AVG program folder and find the relative AVG.EXE file and rename it to XXAVG.EXE so that this operating file cannot be found by the system, consequently it may not operate correctly. Doing this may stop AVG from doing it's job, which is what you want for a short while.
If this is successful, you will have to remove the XX from the file name later and rename the file back to AVG.EXE (or whatever it was originally).
