Ok, I have a question that I've never been able to figure out...maybe the answer's really obvious and I missed something, but....how does Voldemort have his wand back right now? On the day that he killed the Potters and lost his powers, did he just carry his wand away even though he was left powerless as a ghost? Can someone explain this to me?

Very true and that is a question that is yet to be answered. I am sure that J.K Rowling will eventually tell us how. That is her style.....
Question Author
yea, there might have been someone with him...
there were no people with voldemort. he might have taken over some animal as he mentions in the GoF chapter the death eaters.
Has anyone thought this might just be something the author has forgotten about? And unless prompted, she never intended to explain how it happened, a lot of her things that don't add up she has just answered by saying it is magic. Which means she forgot to include it, never thought about it, it may now be put in later, or since this is a kids series her real answer was always magic.

Maybe like haw Sirius stopped by the house, Peter Pettigrew did too.  Maybe Peter got the wand and she just doesn't go into detail.

I also agree with Dragon_Rose that everybody just puts way too much emphasis on things that a lot of people really didn't think about.

i think the only reson voldemort suddenly gets his wand bk coz jk needed a way 4 harry to escape prior incantatem (if thats how its spelt)is a convienate coincerdence for the seris to continue
the answer is not obvious, and now I have another thing to look up tonight (sigh :)
